Surrender Your Pup
To begin with, please call us at 907-202-4226 or email us at info@AlaskaBeagleRanch.org . Share details with us about your pet without holding back. Let us know both the positive and negative aspects concerning your pet. It's essential for us to understand everything we may encounter. Additionally, we must consider space availability. Our operations are conducted under a kennel license issued by the Matsu Animal Control, which imposes limits on the number of pups we can accommodate on the premises.
Next, please download our Surrender Paperwork. This form requires you to provide all relevant background and medical details about your pet. This information can assist us in gaining a better understanding of your pet. It may also be beneficial for a potential new owner. Rest assured, your personal information will not be shared with anyone. If you can't download the paperwork, we can email it to you or you can complete it here.
On the day of the surrender, please arrive at ABR at a time that works in coordination with ABR. If you're outside of the Matsu Borrough and have to ship your pup to us, it's at your expense. Check with your local air carrier, they might have free space available. Bring or send items that belong to your dog, such as a leash, blanket, toys, and any food. Be prepared, as this can be a distressing time for your pet.
What happens to your pup once you leave? It is slowly introduced to the rest of the pups at ABR. This could take several hours. After introduction, they're allowed to roam the grounds under supervision to enjoy all the new smells. An appointment is made at our vet for a wellness exam, update on shots if needed, and schedule for spay or neutering if needed.
